Release notes
What changed in each version. OverWarden updates itself from
Settings — one click, and your game servers keep running while it does.
0.2.25 July 26, 2026
- Fixed: Discord messages reached Palworld as gibberish —
messages you typed in Discord were being sent to Palworld servers using a
Minecraft command, which Palworld didn’t understand. It then
complained, and those complaints were posted back into the same Discord
channel. Discord → Palworld now works properly, with your spaces and
punctuation intact.
- Fixed: Palworld servers were labelled “Minecraft”
— in the pinned live status message and in the bot’s
/status reply. Every server now says which game it actually
runs.
- Honest about Palworld chat — Palworld doesn’t let
server admins see in-game chat at all, so the “Game →
Discord” direction can never work there. It now says that instead of
offering a switch that quietly does nothing. Joins and leaves still post
normally.
0.2.24 July 26, 2026
- Fixed: “Update all PCs” couldn’t update your
other PCs — the PC you were sitting at updated fine, but every
linked PC came back “Bad Request” and stayed on its old
version. They update properly now. The PC you click from needs to be
on 0.2.24 first — so install this one from Settings as usual,
and from then on one click really does cover every PC.
- When a linked PC does fail, it says why — OverWarden
was throwing away the useful half of the explanation and showing you the
short version. Now you get the actual reason.
0.2.23 July 26, 2026
- Set up the Discord bot where you’d expect to —
one bot covers every server on a PC, so it now connects in
Settings → Notifications instead of sending you into one
particular server’s Discord tab. Paste the token, invite the bot,
copy an invite for a friend, all in one place. Each server still picks its
own channels on its own Discord tab.
- OverWarden now tells you why Discord went quiet — if
the bot can’t post somewhere, you get the channel name and the exact
Discord permission it’s missing, with how to fix it — instead
of messages that silently never arrive. “Send test message”
says what actually went wrong too, rather than always blaming a missing
channel.
- Fixed: the bot was asking for the wrong permissions —
the invite link was missing three of them, so crash alerts couldn’t
ping @everyone, the pinned live-status message
couldn’t refresh itself, and photo posts were refused. If Discord has
been quiet or half-working for you, re-invite the bot from Settings after
updating.
- Fixed: the live status message could have flooded a
channel — if it couldn’t update its own pinned message it
would post a brand-new one on every refresh. It now stops and says so.
- Clearer Discord settings — a switch turned on with no
channel chosen now says so instead of looking configured, and OverWarden
mentions when several kinds of message are all pointed at one channel.
0.2.22 July 26, 2026
- Tell us when something breaks — there’s a
“Report a problem” option in the account menu on every page.
Say what went wrong, optionally leave an email so you get a reply, and
send. You can tick a box to include a short technical summary (your
version, Windows, memory, which games you run, recent errors) — and
you can expand see exactly what’s included and read every
line of it before it goes. Untick it and only your own words are sent.
Your server names, file paths, passwords, worlds, logs and player names
are never included, at any setting. Nothing is ever sent in the
background. See privacy for the details.
0.2.21 July 26, 2026
- Update every PC from one click — if you have linked
PCs, Settings now has “Update all PCs.” Your linked PCs go
first and the one you’re sitting at goes last, so it can keep
showing you what’s happening right up until it restarts itself. You
can also update a single linked PC straight from its card on the
dashboard. This is the last update you’ll need to install on
each PC by hand.
- You can watch an update happen — instead of the
dashboard going dark and hopefully coming back, you get a real progress
bar while the download runs, then a clear “installing” step,
and the page brings itself back on the new version when it’s ready.
If an update doesn’t finish, OverWarden tells you that plainly next
time it starts instead of leaving you guessing.
- Uses less memory while updating — the download is
checked as it arrives rather than being held in memory all at once.
0.2.20 July 26, 2026
- Ask OverWarden understands your game’s own setting
names — ask it to change an ARK or Palworld setting using the
name you found in a guide or in the game’s own files, and it now
knows what you mean instead of refusing. If a setting really doesn’t
exist it says which one it didn’t recognise and suggests the closest
match, and it checks before you approve rather than after.
- “It ran out of memory” now works for ARK and
Palworld — those two used to just say “crashed.” When
the numbers show the server had grown past the memory set aside for it,
OverWarden says so in plain words and tells you what to change. If the
evidence isn’t there it stays quiet rather than guessing.
- ARK memory is set per map — Ragnarok and Extinction
need far more than The Island, so OverWarden now suggests the right amount
for the map you picked instead of one number for every map.
- Discord admin role works on ARK — give someone your
admin role in Discord, they link their account, and they get in-game admin
on your ARK server automatically. It already worked for Minecraft.
- Palworld console warnings reach Discord — that switch
was there but did nothing on Palworld servers. It works now, and it stays
quiet unless something is genuinely wrong.
- OverWarden tells you when mods and plugins have updates
— it has been checking all along and never mentioned it. Now it points you
at the right tab, and leaves the decision to you.
0.2.19 July 24, 2026
- Ask OverWarden can build you a server — say
“make me a Paper survival server for my friends” and it sets
one up end to end: it picks a version, downloads it, sorts out the ports,
writes the config and does the first boot. Minecraft, ARK and Palworld
— you just approve the card (Minecraft asks you to accept the EULA
right there, nothing is auto-accepted).
- It shows answers, not just talks — ask to see your
backups, who’s online, or your scheduled jobs and OverWarden lays
them out in a clean table instead of a wall of text.
- More you can do straight from chat — clone a Minecraft
server to try a risky change on the copy first, change a single setting
(“set the difficulty to hard,” “turn PvP off”),
and on Palworld kick, ban or unban a player by name.
- AI works across your linked PCs — a second PC you have
linked now borrows your main PC’s AI key automatically, so Ask
OverWarden works everywhere in your fleet with nothing extra to set up.
0.2.18 July 23, 2026
- Move a server back to the main PC — migration used to
only go from the main PC out to a linked one. Now a server on a linked
PC can move back too, so servers flow both ways across your
fleet. Same careful handoff: it’s never running in two places at
once, and a snapshot always stays behind.
0.2.17 July 22, 2026
- See your whole fleet’s power — with more than
one PC linked, the dashboard shows a new Fleet Resources panel: free
RAM, CPU and disk pooled across every PC, plus a per-PC breakdown.
- New servers land where there’s room — creating
a server offers “Auto — the PC with the most room,” so you
never overload one machine. Minecraft, ARK and Palworld.
- Move any server between PCs — migration now covers
ARK: Survival Ascended and Palworld too, and you can move a server
while it’s running — it’s stopped here, moved, and
started on the other PC. One tap picks the PC with the most room.
- Tidy up your fleet — rename any linked PC, and group
the dashboard by the PC each server runs on.
0.2.16 July 22, 2026
- Sign in with your email — the online portal at
connect.overwarden.com
now sends a six-digit code to your email, like your bank. No license
keys to dig up.
- Roles for the people you add — in Settings → People,
make someone a Helper (the day shift: start/stop,
backups, kick, whitelist, Panic) or a Manager (runs
the games too — console, players, mods, config, schedules — but never
your billing, keys, or the ability to delete a server). Add their
email and they can sign in from anywhere, too.
- OverWarden’s weekly plan — the AI page now
shows a short list of what it would do this week (a nightly backup
here, an off-hours restart there), each one a single tap to approve.
No AI spend to work it out.
- Cleaner Palworld Overview — the join address and its tools live in
one card now, not two.
- The sign-in email got a fresh, more polished look.
0.2.15 July 22, 2026
- Sign in on the website — go to
connect.overwarden.com,
enter your license key, and every PC with "Open from anywhere"
switched on shows an Open dashboard button. This update teaches your
PC to introduce itself, so it appears there as online.
- Helper accounts — give someone you trust their own
sign-in (Settings → People). Helpers can start, stop and restart
servers, take a backup, kick players, approve whitelist requests, and
hit Panic — and nothing else. No files, no mods, no settings, no
deleting anything.
0.2.14 July 22, 2026
- Open from anywhere (beta) — one switch in Settings
gives you a private link to your full dashboard from any phone or
laptop, anywhere. No router changes, no setup; your OverWarden
password still guards the door, and turning it off kills the link
for good.
- Crossplay in one click — on Paper/Purpur Minecraft
servers, the new "Consoles & phones" switch sets up Geyser +
Floodgate so Xbox, Switch, PlayStation and phone players can join
your Java server.
- Friends get the mods themselves — a mod server's
public page now has a "Download the mod pack" button, so one link
hands friends the address and the matching client mods.
- The dashboard installs as an app on your phone (Add to Home
Screen), and Settings shows the safe ways to reach it away from
home.
- Ask OverWarden can back up every server with one approved
card, and greets you with "OverWarden noticed" nudges (never backed
up, crashed overnight, low disk) you can fix with one tap.
- Schedule an in-game announcement without console syntax; release
notes and docs links in Settings now go somewhere real.
0.2.13 July 21, 2026
- Linked PCs got much more capable: restart, back up, and watch the live
console of a server on another PC — right from the main dashboard.
- Create a server on any linked PC from the create page ("Create on" picker).
- One paid license now covers your linked PCs — a second PC in your
fleet no longer needs its own.
- Ask OverWarden can now check and change how friends connect, and set
up Discord channels for a server.
0.2.12 July 21, 2026
- Ask OverWarden can now do things, not just answer: renaming,
RAM changes, players (whitelist/kick/ban/op), restoring backups, mods,
schedules, and more — 25+ actions, always shown as a card you approve
first, always with a safety snapshot.
- It answers in plain words: what it found, what it would do, and
whether it's reversible.
- Fixed the chat spinner getting stuck forever if a request stalled.
0.2.11 July 20, 2026
- Palworld console join/leave lines now use the players' real names.
0.2.10 July 20, 2026
- Palworld console now shows real game events instead of OverWarden's
own status checks.
0.2.9 July 20, 2026
- Fixed a sign-in issue introduced in 0.2.8.
0.2.8 July 20, 2026
- Palworld went deep: live console capture, who's-online with real
join/leave history, guild & base browsing from your world save, play
sessions, and honest difficulty presets.
- Connection modes: OverWarden now tells you exactly how friends can
reach each server (same Wi-Fi, router, or tunnel) and tests it.
- Ask OverWarden suggestions now match the game you're looking at.
0.2.7 July 19, 2026
- Smoother first run: the installer opens your dashboard when it's
ready, and the welcome tour walks through AI setup and adopting
existing servers.
0.2.5 – 0.2.6 July 19, 2026
- Licensing went live: 14-day free trial, activation, and the store.
Game servers are never stopped over licensing — an expired license
only makes the dashboard read-only.
0.2.3 – 0.2.4 July 19, 2026
- System tray companion: dashboard shortcut, live "N of M servers
running" status, and update checks from the tray.
- Stability fixes found while testing updates on a real install.
0.2.0 – 0.2.2 July 17–19, 2026
- The first installable OverWarden: one setup file, self-updating, with
Minecraft, ARK: Survival Ascended, and Palworld support.
- Adopting existing servers (including Palworld), a safer home for new
servers (C:\OverWarden), and a guard so servers started outside
OverWarden are never force-killed.
